The great Russian chef Rashid Rakhmanov is coming to Corfu, invited by the Corfu Food & Wine Festival to introduce us to the flavours of the Urals, Nordic and the latest gastronomic sensation to hit Europe’s culinary capitals, Peruvian-Japanese Nikkei cuisine!
Originally from Perm in the Urals and educated at the school of the legendary Peruvian chef Gaston Acurio in Madrid, Rashid today is Concept Chef at the Gastroport Restaurant Complex and the Metis gastronomy bar of Perm.
In Corfu, the Russian chef will take part in the Chef’s Summit on Thursday, May 10, and will cook for the audience the three aforementioned kitchens in restaurants participating in the Festival.

Experienced and skilled Chef, gastronomy enthusiast, researcher, author of books “The North warms. Recipes from Karelia to Kamchatka” about the cuisine of the North of Russia and “Brightness throughout. Recipes of Peruvian cuisine” about the cuisine of Peru.
Rashid completed training at the culinary school A&G in Madrid (Astrid&Gaston), created by the legendary Chef of Peruvian cuisine Gaston Acurio, has certified in the main restaurant A&G in Lima (33 place in World’s 50 best restaurants of 2017). Rashid worked and trained in restaurants ZUMA, Sunset grill&bar, Barra/M, Tiradito, Pakta, La Cevi, La Mar.
Rashid is trying to apply the acquired experience to the creation of a new modernist cuisine of Prikamye (the Ural mountains region), thereby creating the Ural cuisine in a new reading. Rashid has rightfully earned the title of “The leading chef of the Kama-river cuisine“.
