Manthos Damigos

Manthos Damigos was born in Ioannina in 1997, and grew up in Corfu. He composed and wrote songs from a very young age, performing them in front of audiences and later learning how to record and produce them. In 2015 he started his studies in the Music Department of Ionian University, specializing in composition for films, theatre and advertisements.
In the spring of 2016 he wrote, performed and produced his first collection of songs, ”Collage”. He also filmed, directed and scored ”L’ Homme et Sa Prison”, a short-film based on a story by Jorge Bucay, as well as presenting ”The Sunflower” in the Ionian Academy, performed by the Portativ Ensemble – an adaptation of a fairytale by Evgenios Tribyzas for a small ensemble and narrator.
In the spring of 2018 he worked in three theatre plays presented in the Municipal Theatre of Corfu, as a composer and sound designer. The first, ”Ninian”, was a childs play where he wrote eight original songs – lyrics and music – and also performed the lead role. The second, ”Dust In The Wind”, was a theatrical play where he wrote three co-wrote five more original songs with the composer Stamatis Seraphim (music) and the cast (lyrics). The third, ”I Want A Country” by Andreas Flourakis, a contemporary play performed by the theatrical group of the Ionian University Audiovisual Department, where he wrote original music and was also the sound technician. In the winter of 2018, he presented a short-length performance for a small ensemble and narrator, ”Circular Relics”, based the work of Jorge-Luis Borges.
